The AnimallTAG microchip is encased in bioglass, a material used in the production of human pacemakers, which has been proven not to be rejected when implanted. The bioglass capsule is coated with an anti-migration substance called Parylene, which prevents the movement of the microchip after implantation.

The microchip comes with the disposable applicator and needle, the collar tag and 4 corresponding barcode labels. It is packed in a pouch made of surgical grade paper and laminated film, with chemical indicator that changes color after sterilization.
