Hot spots belong to the most common clinical skin conditions in cats and dogs and involve a sudden, acute bacterial inflammation, which is usually superficial, but may also penetrate into deeper layers of the skin. Hot spots are primarily diagnosed in the summer season in long-haired dogs with a dense coat. The disease tends to recur.
