Kelp (Ascophyllum nodosum)

Brown marine alga (Ascophyllum nodosum) is a natural source of important minerals, such as iodine, calcium, phosphorus, magnesium, and potassium, as well as iron, vitamins B and C, and essential amino acids. Animals require these substances, yet many of them do not commonly occur in foods found on land, or are not easily absorbed into the blood stream. Kelp has unique antioxidant properties and supports thyroid function, hair pigmentation, healthy teeth and gums. In its natural, unrefined yet highly digestible form, kelp is a suitable dietary supplement for all dogs. We especially recommend using it to improve the condition, appearance, and quality of hair. It also reduces the formation of dental plaque and tartar and helps control bad breath.
